Wonder and awe. These are the hallmarks of Jonathan Klein’s work.
You can almost taste it in his “Whopper Detour” film for Burger King which claimed the Titanium Grand Prix at the Cannes Lions, as well as One Show, Clio, and Webby honors. You can hear it in “Jingle Hoops,” the NBA’s commercial that has been called the “one of those commercials that people will be talking about forever” by USA TODAY Sports. You can definitely feel it in his Uncle Drew web series that won Cannes Lions for Pepsi and inspired a 2018 Lionsgate feature film.
Beginning his filmmaking journey in his father’s darkroom, he wound through fashion and journalism before becoming a creative director at the NFL and learning from the incomparable Steve Sabol at NFL Films. He’s made campaigns for Nissan, ESPN, Amazon and others.
Having collaborated with such notable names as Tom Brady, LeBron James, Kristen Bell, President Barack Obama and Chewbacca; he sometimes wonders about and is forever in awe of all of them.
